Anglican Spirituality
First Communion and Anglican Worship
Welcome
Welcome to the on-line first communion class, a 21st century approach to an ancient Christian tradition.
It would be great to have you join us on this exciting journey to your first communion and to taking an active role in church, be it school chapel or in your local church. Holy communion is the central worship service of the Anglican church. It is a sacrament. Our church is a sacramental church because we celebrate two sacraments, Holy Communion and Baptism.
Whoa! Hold up! I don't know what you are talking about. What does that all mean and why should I participate? Can you please explain a little more about the Anglican church and some of the words like sacrament, communion, baptism?
Sorry. I go a bit fast sometimes. In a short series of newsletters I will outline, a little slower, what some of these words and who the Anglican church is, how you can take part in the services and why we do certain practices in the service. Hope that ok?
Right, scroll down for lesson one!
