How Would You Like to Hear an Astronaut, a Pilot, and a Baseball Hall of Famer Speak about Leadership and Success?
Teachers, administrators, and high school student leaders have an unprecedented opportunity to hear nine world-renowned speakers at the largest one-day leadership event in the world – and all without leaving the DFW area. On May 4, Leadercast 2018 will be broadcast live from Atlanta to ESC Region 11, one of 700 host sites for the simulcast. Speakers, several of whom are best-selling authors, include:
- an astronaut/engineer/physician who was the first woman of color to go into space;
- the first female F-14 pilot in the U.S. Navy;
- an acrobat/aerialist who turned what might have been a life of hardship into a destiny of success;
- the president (and branding innovator) of a global corporation whose brands include Schlotzsky’s, Auntie Anne’s, McAllister’s Deli, and Cinnabon;
- a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame who currently serves as a liaison between the commissioner of baseball and the managers of 30 major league clubs;
- a world-renowned sports psychologist who works with professional athletes, law enforcement, the U.S. Army, and Fortune 100 executives;
- a psychotherapist who hosts the popular podcast Typology; and
- the founder of a leadership development firm that specializes in transformative live events.
Each speaker will spark creativity and empower attendees, provide them with useful takeaways (including digital summaries) and inspire the leader within. This ticket for becoming the best leader is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, whether someone is beginning his or her leadership journey or is seeking to connect with leaders who will make them aspire to higher levels of leadership.

Not Your Typical Field Trip
Connect2Texas programs are not museum tours. Our providers have developed content aligned to state standards to enhance your instructional lessons. These content- enhancement programs are tailored to every grade level and include pre- and post-lesson activities. Our goal is to virtually bring valuable resources to your classroom, from experts in the field, historical artifacts, unattainable supplies, and exposure to unique learning experiences through distance learning.
If you have not participated in one of our educational and entertaining programs, IT’S NOT TOO LATE! April and May have a lot to offer, so go to www.Connect2Texas.net and click on "Events" to see what’s available. We would love to connect your students to any of our expansive program options.
TEA: Final Decisions for 2018 Accountability
Commissioner Morath's final decisions for 2018 Accountability may be found at TEA’s Accountability Development Materials. These decisions were made after the commissioner received feedback from the public, along with recommendations from the Accountability Policy Advisory Committee (APAC) and Accountability Technical Advisory Committee (ATAC). House Bill 22 2018 Accountability Decisions Framework provides the component, description, and rationale for the decisions.
One major addition is that students with an IEP who graduate with completed IEP and participate in workforce readiness (Graduation Type Code of 04, 05, 54, or 55) will meet the College, Career, and Military Readiness requirement.
