War crimes
Erich Raeder
What he did
Erich Raeder was a German naval commander and Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. He was charged under Counts One, Two and Three of the Indictment. The most serious charges were linked with German U-Boat activity. Also strong evidence was presented to show that Raeder was also involved in the "general plan and conspiracy" to wage war in violation international law and existing treaties
His charges
Erich Raeder was sentenced to life imprisonment but because of his failing health he was released from Spandau Prison in 1955 and then died in 1960.
What should have happened
He should've been imprisoned for life and left in prison for that amount of time.
