Why I Drive... And Why I Monitor... Meet Mr. Fabian Maltos and Mr. Perry Bell Jr.
Mr. Perry Bell Jr has also been with us for approximately 3 years and works alongside Mr. Maltos as a bus monitor. Mr. Bell was eager to share some of his life experiences and I most certainly enjoyed listening to him talk about being a former butcher.
Watch the video below and see why these two individuals like to drive and monitor.
Wear your Mask / Hand Sanitizer
All buses must have hand sanitizer available for students upon boarding. If you are low on hand sanitizer or face masks for your bus, please let your supervisor know, immediately.

Instructional Time
(Repeat Story from November 2020)
Student Transportation Services is committed to ensuring all students including those designated as students who receive Special Education services receive their full designated instructional time.
Buses may arrive early to campuses in the afternoon for p.m. dismissal, but students are not to board the buses until the dismissal bell has rung. This will ensure that all students can fulfill their designated instructional time. Only SPED students with a reduced instructional day designated in their IEP will be picked up early by Student Transportation Services.

How to avoid a downgrade of your CDL
To avoid your CDL from being downgraded by the Department of Public Safety, you may complete and file a CDL-10 Affidavit if you do not drive a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) outside of the state of Texas. This affidavit removes the requirement of having your DOT medical card on file with DPS each year.
If your CDL is downgraded, you are automatically ineligible to drive a CMV, including a school bus. It is a personal choice if you want to keep your DOT on file with DPS. However, you are responsible for ensuring DPS receives your renewed DOT medical card prior to its expiration date.

COVID VACCINE
Today, I'd like to share my experience. I recently went through the vaccine drive through located at Eastfield College to receive the first of the two shots. I had a mild headache for a day following the first shot but have felt fine several days afterwards. I'm scheduled for February 16 for the follow up....Jaime Sandoval, Executive Director of Student Transportation
