STEM Week is Coming
Halloween Dress Up Day October 31st
For a $1.00 donation towards our Adopt-a-Family program, TMS will have a Halloween dress-up day on Thursday, October 31st. Students will hand in their money during Homeroom that morning.
The guidelines for the day are as follows:
- Costumes may not have parts that interfere with learning. (No masks or costumes that restrict movement or vision or prevent sitting at desks or are an obstruction in the hallways).
- Costumes may not promote violence or have accessories or props that could be used as a weapon.
- Please do not bring food or candy into school this day.
Thank you for following these guidelines, and we look forward to seeing fun, creative costumes
November 1st Anti Bullying Presentation
On November 1st at 9:15 in the high school auditorium, we will be having a school wide presentation entitled "Snowflake" (http://www.snowflakemovie.com/#teaser) . This anti-bullying presentation is sponsored the SRO program and the Tyngsborough Police Department. WBZ will be here to record the event. During the October 28th Community Block, teachers will show the trailer and have a conversation about it with their students. Parents who have not given permission to the school for pictures or videos to be taken of their child will be contacted in the next few days for permission or clarification.

Yearbook Update
The next Yearbook meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 2:00-3:00pm in Room 110.
There will be Late Bus at 4:00pm.
The Yearbook Club is looking for more members! Please see Ms. Cirrone or Ms. Provencher if you want to join, or if you want to learn more about what we actually do in this club!

Art Club
Art Club
Mrs. Slattery is holding Art Club every Thursday from 2 - 3pm in the Art room. Students in Art Club are creating and planning Community art. Have fun practicing skills and collaborating with friends :) Any student who is interested in joining can sign up on the sheet outside of room 102! There is no cost to this club but there may be a couple projects with a nominal charge.
Ski Club is Coming
The Tyngsborough Ski & Snowboard club registration is now open. The program will again travel to Pats Peak ski area in Henniker, NH, on Tuesday nights starting in January.

Immunizations from 6th Graders
Parents of 6th Grade Students: Please continue to send in a copy of your child’s physical examinations and immunization records. All children must have proof of the required vaccinations on file prior to entering the 7th grade or may be excluded from school. The required immunizations are usually given at the 11 year old or 12 year old well-visit.
PTO SUPPORT
The PTO sponsors events throughout the school year to help raise money for the Arts and Enrichment programs at TMS. If you’d like to support the PTO, please fill out and return a PTO Volunteer/Support Form, which can be found under the TMS website under Community Info. at the bottom of the page:

Need for School Nurses
Tyngsborough Public Schools is currently hiring Per Diem Registered Nurses! If you enjoy caring for school aged children and are looking to earn some extra income, please contact Michelle Riley MSN RN, at Tyngsborough Middle School for more information. OUTSIDE FOOD IN THE SCHOOL
Many times students wish to share food with their peers in school. We try to limit this practice as we have students with allergies to be aware of. If you hope to send in food to school for more than your own child, please check with teachers and our nurse, Michelle Riley. Whenever food is prepared for a project or a surprise, there will be need to be an ingredient list for students and staff to observe.

LATE BUS
The TMS/THS Late Bus has begun and will run every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school year. The bus departs TMS at 4:00pm and will cost $1.00 to ride. Sign-ups and bus tickets will be sold and money will be collected during all lunch periods on that Late Bus Day. The Late Bus schedule and Late Bus routes have been posted under “Transportation/Bus Routes” on the TMS, THS and district websites.
Homework Club has started as well. Students do not need to pay for Homework Club. Homework Club runs in conjunction with the Late Bus, and is held 2:00-4:00pm with a teacher/advisor.
PLEASE NOTE: The Late Bus route does not follow the regular pick-up and drop-off routes. The route will depend on ridership that particular day. The bus company will try to drop the students as close to their homes as possible.

CO-CURRICULAR
Here at TMS we offer various co-curricular after-school activities and clubs, with a $75.00 sign-up fee for certain clubs. Our offerings include Student Council and Robotics Club, and Knowledge Bowl with Mr. Pendergast. In-school announcements will be made for all students, and more information will be coming in future parent emails, so stay tuned!

The 35th TST Community Calendar will be available for purchase for $5 by contacting Daniela diMari at 978-649-2527. The community calendar features dates of Town and School meetings, early release days, MCAS dates and school vacation dates.
The 16th annual Holiday Marketplace will take place on November 3rd at the Tyngsborough Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will feature exhibitors of handcrafted items, gifts, and decorative items, as well as business services and representatives of the home based business work force. Exhibitors wishing to reserve a table for this event may contact Rose Mitchell at mitchell6260@msn.com or info@TyngsboroughScholarshipTrust.org. New this year at the Holiday Marketplace will be pictures with Santa, cookie decorating with Mrs. Clause, and an adult Paint craft! Stay tuned for more details!
TST information is available in the Community News portion of our public schools’ weekly email blast. The TST is actively recruiting new members and invites you to join our meetings on the second Wednesday of the month at the Tyngsborough Town Hall at 7:00 pm.
