silk,bronze,and jade were important products during the Shang dynasty. the Shang dynasty was in the bronze age, so bronze was common. they only traded within china, since there was poor trade roots and the Shang dynasty was the first recorded dynasty. the occupations that grew were farmers,servants,potters,crafts workers,and engineers.

chinesTwo practices that extend from these ancient dynasties to the present are ancestral rites e culture romans and hewbrews also revered their ancestors and used divinator to discern the workings of the super natural world both have outlived many other belief systems .More over,for many chinese today ,the veneration of the dead constitutes a meeting ground for past , present and future as well as for diffrent belief systems ,such as cunfuciasm,paoism,and budism . The ancestral cult was based on five key premises .First was the belief that the world was divided into three tiers : heaven, earth and the under world . The three levels though distinct were viewed as an incorrected reality . Second was the importance of lineage . A chinese family was connected not only there fathers and mothers of the recent past but those from the distant past .
