A Message from the Principals

Hello Millbridge Families,

March.... in like a lion, out like a lamb. It seems February is passing in the blink of an eye, and we are looking forward to sunshine and brighter days!

The month of March is usually a time of transition from winter to spring. As we hope for warmer weather, we want to keep our students focused on continuing to strive to do their best. We appreciate all the effort you put in at home to ensure this carries over into their school day, as it impacts their academic standing. Thank you to all our students, staff, and families for your continued support. We will be recognizing our next Cub of The Month next week. Please continue to talk to your children about the four bear paws: Caring, Helpful, Responsible, & Respectful.

Please be aware, if you are dropping your child off for school in the morning you MUST go to the carpool loop at the cafeteria entrance. For the safety of the children, they should not be dropped off in our main lot where our buses are parked.

Once the bell rings at 9am, cars will not be permitted to enter the car loop. Parents will need to park and bring in their child to the main lobby.

As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have. Our continued thanks for your cooperation, support, and participation in your child's education.

Educationally yours,

Mrs. Massey and Mrs. Murphy

Support for Turkish and Syrian Earthquake Victims

Dear Community Members,

Delran Township is home to many great people who contribute far and wide to each other for reasons large and small. What is likely the greatest attraction for Delran to its residents is the communal feel that the residents have for each other.

We have residents who hail from Turkey and Syria who call Delran home. To that end, at the District, we are all saddened for victims in both Turkey and Syria who are suffering from deadly earthquakes and have lost loved family members and friends.

Our District is filled with wonderful educators who all embrace the community they serve. At the District, we are able to support families in a myriad of ways. If you are experiencing loss in connection to these devastating please contact your child’s Principal or Dr. Lisa Della Vecchia (ldellavecchia@delranschools.org) to ensure that you and your children receive any additional support you may require.

There are local opportunities to contribute to support initiatives for the earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey. Please reference the organizations below.

Please be advised that according to our board policy, students need a doctor's note for an absence to be excused. Below you will find the exceptions which can also be found in our board policy.

Exceptions will be made for excused absences which include: (1) illness as certified by a physician within five days; (2) student’s required attendance in court inclusive of documentation; (3) excused religious observances; (4) Take Your Child to Work day; and (5) necessary and unavoidable medical or dental appointments that cannot be scheduled at a time other than the school day. Absences due to vacation are unexcused and are discouraged.

Snack at School

In order to ensure that all students with life-threatening allergies are safe at school, we ask that everyone adhere to this safe snack list.

Important Information: Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast & Lunch can be purchased. We encourage parents begin an account and place money on their student account. Please click here for the breakfast order form.

LOST AND FOUND

Each year, we have countless items ranging from winter coats to backpacks that are lost. We strongly encourage parents to LABEL EVERYTHING with your child’s name, teacher and bus letter. Lost and found items are kept in the gym and put out periodically throughout the year.

Become an Observer in Canvas

If you have not already done so, please be sure to become an observer for your child(ren) in Canvas. The information below is from the district's webpage and will help you become a co-observer. If you have multiple children, you will be able to see everything for them in one place. Teachers will be providing a weekly overview for parents and notes for the week in Canvas.

To enable co-enrollment (observer) in Canvas K-12 your student will need to generate a pairing code and you will need to link the account. A parent may pair (link) to multiple children in the same parent (observer) account.

You will need to set up the pairing through a web browser like Chrome. You cannot enable pairing or observing through the parent app.

Co-enrollment means you can view grades, upcoming assignments and due dates, missing work, and teacher communication.

Teachers can send individual, group, and course-wide messages to students and parents.

Once you're co-enrolled, you'll want to set-up your notification preferences. Click here for instructions on setting up your notification preferences.
