Chipmunk Chatter
For The Week of March 22nd through 26th
Administrators' Message
Dear Sandymount Families~
WAY TO GO Sandymount students, families and staff for a great start to four day in-person learning. It was truly heartwarming to see students’ enthusiasm and readiness to return to school.
As we move forward to welcoming additional students next week, we want to continue to encourage our students to follow safe and healthy guidelines. We ask that families assist us by reminding your child(ren) of healthy habits to prevent the spread of germs and to tell an adult if they are feeling sick.
We are aware that parent pick-up was overwhelming for some families during the first week of four day in-person learning. We have several families who have decided to pick up their children rather than utilizing bus transportation. Due to the increase of car riders, the process is taking longer than it has in the past. It is important to keep in mind that our parent pick-up window is from 4:00-4:30 pm. We anticipate a faster dismissal process within a few weeks. Please know that our priority is to ensure that students are safely dismissed from school, whether they are a bus or car rider.
Lastly yet importantly, congratulations to the twenty-two Sandymount staff members who were nominated for the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Teacher Award. We are very fortunate to have such a committed and caring staff at Sandymount. Our sincere appreciation to the individuals for their nomination(s).
Have a great weekend!
