EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTS!
Why You Should Donate To The CCMS 100 Campaign
"Hi. My name is Robin Cayetano. I have a daughter in 7th grade & a son in 9th grade (at CCHS). Our middle school experience here at CCMS has been incredibly rewarding because my kids have participated in sports, theater, ASB, & WEB. None of these programs would be possible without the support of PTSA & Panther Partners. I feel so lucky that my children have had these invaluable opportunities."
This is just one of many reasons why all CCMS families should donate to the CCMS 100 (Annual Giving) Campaign, collaboratively run by our PTSA and Panther Partners (booster club). This Campaign funds essential CCMS programs including teacher supplies, student counseling, field trips, the arts and so much more. If we don't raise these funds, we will have to scale back or cut some of these important programs.
The Campaign is simple:
– 100% of families donating
– during the first 100 days of school
– to raise $100k for CCMS!
So far, we have raised $18,405 or nearly 20% of our goal. This is amazing Panther Parents – let’s keep it going!!! If you haven’t given yet, please do so now!
Click here (PTSA & Panther Partners Annual Giving Campaign) to donate today to help us get to 100%. You can give once or monthly and can pay by cash, check or credit card. We ask all families to stretch to give meaningfully, recognizing that the amount is different for every family – whether you can give $25 or $1,000, we ask that you lean it to support our school at the level that you’re able. A public education is free but a great one takes all of our support. Thank you so much!
6th Grade Dance & Parent Mixer (Hosted by WEB)
JOIN US THIS FRIDAY, SEP 6, FROM 5-7PM AT CCMS!
Join us for our 6th Grade Dance and Parent Mixer! While your 6th grade Panther is off having fun at our (supervised) dance, you can be mingling and getting to know other 6th grade parents. Make friends, make play dates, and share concerns/parenting tips for this wonderful journey called Middle School!
Parents: Take the Pledge!!
Take the Safe Routes to School Parent Pledge and make a commitment to healthier, safer communities.
Traffic volumes and traffic safety continue to be the top barriers for parents not walking or biking more. The Culver City Safe Routes to School Program asks parents, caregivers and students to do their part to help reduce traffic and improve safety while coming to and from our schools.
3 ways to take the pledge:
- Fill out a Pledge at school (pledges are available in the front office)
- Take the Pledge online: Online/ENGLISH Online/ESPAÑOL
- Print your own: Click on the image to the right, print, sign and return the top portion to your school. Keep the bottom as a reminder for you and your family. ENGLISH ESPAÑOL
Copy Room Volunteers Needed
Are you looking for a way to get involved at CCMS? Do you like helping out your kids’ teachers? If so the PTSA is looking for volunteers to work in the copy room this year. This is a great way to get to know the campus and the staff. You must be a cleared volunteer and be willing to commit to a hour or two once a week or every other week.
Please contact Allison Herbst (asherbst@me.com) if you are interested.
Help CCMS by volunteering in the CCMS Student Store!
The CCMS Student Store is an extremely important source of revenue for the PTSA - and a great way to get a peek into what's happening with CCMS students during their lunch hour and right after school! So why not volunteer to work the CCMS Student Store?! It's open daily for students to buy snacks at lunch and after school, PE clothes, and Spirit Wear and we need lots of parents to staff it. Please take advantage of this chance to be on campus and volunteer today! Sign up here! Please make sure to check your Volunteer Clearance with the office prior to signing up to help.
CCMS School Site Council
Culver City Middle School is seeking parent nominees for the 2019-2020 School Site Council (SSC). The Council consists of five parents and five faculty members who meet regularly to update the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and to review and monitor curriculum implementation. Here is an opportunity to share your curriculum ideas, to learn, and to work closely with the faculty.
The School Site Council office position is a two-year term (a parent of an eighth
grader is an exception). SSC meetings are scheduled monthly in the early evening.
If you would like to be considered for nomination or would like to nominate another parent, please complete the NOMINATION FORM by September 13.
