Updates from PTA
Do you and your kids love the CARNIVAL? I’ll be blunt folks. Our school needs a couple of people to step up and organize the school carnival for Fall 2019 or it might not happen. This is such an amazing event for families to get together! We have our two former volunteers available to help with any questions on running this event. It’s a bit of planning and phone calls now to get great rides, bounce houses, food trucks and permits secured. Then fine tuning, organizing and running the actual event in the fall. It’s a great opportunity to be involved with a school event, but something that doesn’t last all year. And it’s FUN!
Contact Patti Bernhardt at (208)861-7878 to get started!
Get reimbursed!
For art parents and any volunteers who are getting reimbursed for expenses...please have your receipts and forms turned in by May 15th! Reimbursements turned in after that may experience a long delay in processing. Turning in receipts and forms in a timely manner helps PTA run smoothly. Our goal is to have paperwork received within 30 days of purchases.
Do You Know The Dangers of Vaping?
If you don’t know the difference between a JUUL, e-hookah, and a vape pen, you’re not alone. However, a growing number of teenagers know the difference. Locally, we’ve seen an increase in incidents involving student vaping. Due to the negative health effects vaping can have on our students, we take this issue very seriously and want you to be aware of the dangers. To learn more, plan to attend our Parent Night on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at South Junior High School, 3101 W. Cassia St., Boise. Food trucks, free child care, activity booths, and panel discussions will be provided.
Donation Opportunity
As the weather warms up and you find your kids' clothing no longer fits, please consider donating to the community school at Garfield Elementary! Gently used clothing and shoes can be sent to school with your students and turned in to the office. We will get them over to Garfield for distribution!
