Notes and Updates
Thank you to all that came to back to school night. It was a joy to have you all in the classroom. The students were really excited to have letters from their parents.
Last week, the students have really been focused on appropriate and inappropriate actions in school. They also have learned a great deal about kindness. On Thursday students learned about the events that happened in America on September 11th and created letters to the firefighters and police officers to show their appreciation for their help. The letters will be given to the firefighters and police officers at the American Base. I was very excited to see students reach a reading stamina of 7 minutes last week and I am hoping that we will reach 10 minutes by the end of this week.
Homework will be given today and needs to be returned on Thursday. If homework can not be completed during the week students have the option to do it over the weekend. I try to give students the opportunity to have a homework free weekend so they can enjoy time with family and friends. I sent home students IXL username and password last Thursday so please make sure to practice with students how to log on and off IXL. Students will also be receiving their RED reading folder tonight with a book inside. Please make sure to list their homework book in their reading log, as well as any others they read, so they can reach 100 books.
