School District 622

Proposed Elementary School Boundaries

Dear 622 Families and Staff,

Earlier this school year, District 622 began community conversations regarding changes to the elementary school boundaries due to the voter-approved facilities projects currently underway. Community members were invited to participate in this decision-making process, and many individuals volunteered their time to the committee.

After meeting weekly since February 2021, the 622 Boundary Committee presented their elementary school boundary recommendations at the April 6 School Board Study Session held at the District Education Center.

From April 8 through April 21, the District 622 community has the opportunity to watch the committee’s presentation, view a proposed boundary map, utilize the new school lookup feature, and provide feedback on the proposed school boundaries. For the information, please visit

The school board will officially vote on the proposed boundary changes at the April 27 business meeting, which will be live-streamed on the District 622 YouTube page.

In addition to the new school boundaries that will take effect in the fall of 2022, we are excited to announce that we will also begin three new dual language immersion programs at the same time! A community survey earlier this year showed an overwhelming interest in offering this type of program in our district. In the fall of 2022, we will begin kindergarten programs at the following sites, adding a new grade level each year as these students move up:

Castle Elementary School - Mandarin Chinese

Carver Elementary School - Spanish

Richardson Elementary School - Hmong

Much more information about these programs, as well as about the enrollment process, will be available next school year.
