Belmont Elementary: A PAWSitive Place to Learn!
February 15, 2016
looking for 2016-2017 incoming kinderdogs!
Our most important information of the night is to simply find out who is coming to kindergarten next year so that we can be ready for each young learner! We'll ask you to fill out an enrollment form, ask you to begin thinking about whether a half-day or full-day program best meets your child's needs, and drop off copies (or we are happy to make copies for you) of official birth certificates, immunization records and proof of residency (current utility bill is best) to get your child's elementary journey underway.
If your child is eligible for kindergarten (age 5 on or before August 31, 2016) then Round-Up is for you! Please, feel free to pass this information on to any friends or neighbors in our Belmont neighborhoods who have a kindergarten eligible youngster!
District dates are set for kindergarten round-up at all elementary schools in February. Follow this link to the district website for information if you or anyone you know will have a kindergarten student in the 2016-2017 school year.

Keeping a commitment: School mall
Thank you for allowing me to keep a commitment that I made last year, way before you came through for our PTO with a vengeance and donated over $13,000 during the Fun Run last fall....and then the PTO came through with a vengeance and has committed to putting all of that money and more right into our classrooms. Wow. We are so very blessed. Before all of that, I made a commitment with School Mall- you remember the magazine and online shopping people- to do a second campaign this year. Having already done so, I feel like I need to follow through. I don't plan to make the same commitment next year, however, for those of you who have enjoyed purchasing extra reading materials through this program- here is your chance! It is easy. It is quick. It is ENTIRELY up to you!
YOU have the power! We are NOT showing the kids the pump you up video this year, and I've asked the teachers to share very simple information with the students. They will let the students know that they should bring the info home to you (that should happen on Tuesday) and then be very respectful when you give them your answer regarding participation.
If you choose to participate, simply fill out the cards with addresses and return the packet to school with your child by Friday. Your child will receive a thank you token for being responsible for returning the completed packet.
If you choose to not participate, simply return the packet to school with your child by Friday so that we may recycle the materials. Your child will receive a thank you token for being responsible for returning the empty packet.
Either way, we'd like to have the packet returned, and your kiddo will get a small thank you gift for helping relay the materials. Either choice. No pressure!
We do have a goal of 100 completed and returned booklets. That would earn a $500 bonus on top of $2.25 for each booklet. That's $725 for classroom supplies for our teachers and students.
Thank you so much for participating if this works for your family, and for understanding my desire to follow through with a previous commitment.
Your continued support and generosity are simply amazing,
