Kinder Playground with Pop
Kindergarten held their annual Playground with Pop on Friday, October 12th on the Davidson playground. Kinder dragons had such fun playing and spending extra time with their dads!

National School Lunch Week
Daily Theme for National School Lunch Week :
Monday – Crazy Sock and Hat Day
Tuesday – Favorite Sport or Team Jersey
Wednesday – Western/Texas theme – including Cowboy hats
Thursday – Red/White and Blue theme – Patriotic theme
Friday – Favorite Throwback Band/Movie/Video game shirt or Current or Throwback School Spirit shirt
Book Character Day and Parade!
Parents are invited to come and view the parade in designated areas in front of the school. Raptor badges are not required for parents coming to only watch the parade because parents will be outside the building. Parents will be able to view all classes as the students parade in their book character costumes through the circle drive in front of KDE. We will begin the parade at 8:40 am. We are looking forward to an exciting day!

School Visit with Angela DiTerlizzi
Author Angela DiTerlizzi will visit Davidson Elementary on Tuesday, October 23. She will share her experiences and talk about the writing process as well as her new book JUST ADD GLITTER.
All students have the opportunity to purchase a signed book that will be delivered to the classroom. Books will be delivered to the school on the day of the event.

Unity Day- Wear Orange to School on October 24th

Author Stephen Bramucci coming to KDE
Stephen Bramucci is coming to our school to visit with 3rd Grade on November 1st. Here is the link if you would like to purchase an autographed book for yourself. He will be promoting his second book in The Danger Gang series titled The Danger Gang and the Feral Beast. Both books in the series are available for purchase. He is an adventure seeker and we know that our students are going to love him and his book series!!

3rd Grade Musical - Mark Your Calendars Now!
Our fantastic students have been working hard in their music classes to prepare for this year’s grade-level musical. Our musical is titled “Goal!”, and is a story about “The Beautiful Game” of soccer (football!). Important life lessons stressed in this performance are teamwork and sportsmanship, both on and off the field. Our students will perform this presentation on Tuesday, November 13th, with one performance during the school day at 2:15 pm for our students and staff, and again at 6:00 pm for parents and community. Call time for students for the evening performance will be 5:40 pm. We would love for our students to wear soccer uniform items as a costume (no cleats for safety reasons, regular PE shoes will be fine.) We are looking forward to a fabulous show, and can’t wait for you to see and hear your student performer!
Katy ISD Legacy Parent Academy
Katy ISD is pleased to introduce Legacy Parent Academy, which was developed to support the District’s Strategic Plan Goal 8: “We will actively support the emotional well-being of all learners.”
The Katy ISD Legacy Parent Academy is a series of informational sessions specifically designed to assist parents by providing valuable information that relates to topics that go beyond the academic experience. In today’s world, we know parents and guardians are faced with decisions that will profoundly impact the future growth and development of their student. The goal of the Katy ISD Legacy Parent Academy is to equip parents with strategies and techniques to support their students. All parents and guardians of Katy ISD students are welcome to attend.
The 2018-19 sessions will feature presentations from experts in topics that address emotional well-being, college preparedness, and college financial aid. After School Katy Robotics Academy Coming to KDE for Spring 2019
We are excited to announce that our 1st-5th graders will have a wonderful opportunity to learn computer programming with LEGO robotics this year! Students will learn computer science and robotics concepts through hands-on experience with LEGO EV3 and WeDo robots.

Davidson Elementary offers the opportunity for parents/guardians to report their child's absence via the campus webpage on the district website.
