Welcome to the Prairie Point Panther Press!
Prinicpal's Letter
Dear School Families:
What a fantastic day to get outside and celebrate our Panther Fitness Challenge! Our students had a great time, running and walking the course as well as learning new exercises and challenges! The students had a blast, the support from our Home and School and volunteer parents was amazing and our teachers were leading the charge with enthusiasm!
I would like to offer a sincere “thank you” to our parents and sponsors for supporting our school fundraiser. I am thrilled to announce that in addition to having an awesome day, we were able to raise $18,665.70 from our Panther Fitness Challenge family donations, as well as an additional $7,000 in sponsorship dollars. Thank you to everyone for making this possible. Our students have met their goal and will celebrate their successes during our special reward assembly on October 10th!
I would like to offer a special “thank you” to our Panther Fitness Challenge Committee Chairs: Sarah Eggers, Karen Kelly, and Vickie Nass. Sarah, Karen and Vickie all have 5th graders who will be moving on to Traughber Junior High next year. We will be seeking new Committee Chairs to continue to move this great fundraiser forward. If this is something that you are interested in, please let one of our Home and School Board Members know. Again, thank you to Sarah, Karen and Vickie for the wonderful work and dedication to the Panther Fitness Challenge!
Thank you for all that you do to make Prairie Point a wonderful school community!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Groves

We are excited to welcome cookbook author and PBS cooking show host Julia Collin Davison on October 24th. Because of space limitations, she will speak to 4th and 5th grades only, but everyone is welcome to purchase her new cookbook for children. Watch those Thursday folders for more information about this.
Students are once again invited to decorate a pumpkin (the fake kind) to represent a children's book, and to bring it to our gallery in the LRC for the month of October.

News from Father's Forum
Father Son Game Night
On Friday September 14th The Prairie Point Fathers’ Forum hosted a Father Son Game Night in the gym at Prairie Point Elementary! We had 67 families participate with 83 boys enjoying a variety of games, hot dogs, chips and lemonade from 6:30 to 8:30. All in attendance had a great time! Food was provided by Salerno’s Red Hots, as well as LOTS of treats brought in by Prairie Point Moms! There was a drawing for FREE rounds of Mini-Bowling at Luigi’s Pizza, with a winner for every grade level, Pre-K through 5th.
We want to thank everyone who made this event possible. Our fantastic team of volunteers which included Prairie Point parents, sisters, Oswego High School students, and those who provided the wonderful treats that everyone enjoyed. And, as always, we thank the Prairie Point Staff for their continued help and support which make all of our events possible.
Thank you to all who attended Game Night! We look forward to seeing everyone next year!
