Counselor's Corner
This has been a great year at Fowler Middle School. The counselors have truly enjoyed working with all the students and are proud of all their accomplishments, as well as all the activities they have taken part in that make a difference in the world around them – such as the Green Team, Red Ribbon Week, Career Day and Power to Change (to name a few). We are especially proud of the way our students have adapted during this unprecedented time in history, and continued to SOAR through the ELearning process.
Please enjoy a safe summer as we send off our outstanding 8th grade class to soar to even greater heights at Lebanon Trail and Liberty High School. As for the rest of you, we are looking forward to more exciting times and great memories as a Fowler Falcon.
We wanted to share a few important dates with you, yet please continue to follow updates from our district through email and both the district and Fowler website. We have missed our Fowler community, especially our students, and hope that at the start of the 2020-21 school year we will all be back together on campus. We will do our best to keep everyone informed as updates and decisions are made throughout the summer regarding the healthiest way to move forward.
Falcon Flight Camp will be held Monday, August 10th, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am (schedule pick-up begins at 8:30 am). This is an exciting time for our incoming 6th graders to learn all about middle school. Our Fowler band, cheerleaders and NJHS members will be participating in Flight Camp events as well. If you are a returning 7th or 8th grader you will pick up your schedule on August 10th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.
We look forward to taking off on a whole new journey with all of you in the year ahead!
Frisco Education Foundation (FEF), the nonprofit that exists solely to support the students and staff of FISD, has been a part of the community for 20 years. With support from donors and partners, FEF awards college scholarships to graduating seniors from every FISD high school annually. But like many businesses and nonprofit organizations, its donations and revenue streams have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, the FEF received scholarship applications from almost 1,400 seniors! This group of students has missed out on a number of conventional senior milestones. FEF would love to show the community’s support for these students by giving to as many seniors as possible who applied for college scholarships through the Foundation.
The Frisco Education Foundation needs the community’s help to fill the $70,000 fundraising gap caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. Together, we can make that happen by June 6!
Support Our Seniors and show your Frisco Pride by contributing to the FEF scholarship fund for the Class of 2020. Make your mark on a deserving senior today!
Invest in the future of the FISD Class of 2020 Scholarship Applicants today. These funds will be used solely to support college scholarships for the Class of 2020.

Congratulations Gauri Binup
Porcelain Doll (by Gauri Binup) - 04/06/20
Her skin was snow-
no,
too soft, too plush, too lively.
Her skin was ice.
yes,
so clear i could see the
cold blue blood of her veins
throbbing beneath the glassy glossy surface.
(Why?)
Her eyes were beads-
no,
too small, too round, too distant.
Her eyes were shadows.
yes,
so callous i could feel the
presence of her dark stare
like a shaft of light refracting through the prism of my body.
(Why did You do it?)
Her hair was silk-
no,
too smooth, too fine, too prideful.
Her hair was string.
yes,
so sinuous I could watch the
winding expanse of wire, looping and tumbling
from one static room to the next, following behind Her? an endless leash?
(Why did You kill Her?)
Her face was perfect,
yes,
so beautiful I could cradle it in my
unworthy hands and never grow tired of
whispering sweet murmurs into Her fragile ears or
staring longingly at the crystal eyes that don’t (shouldn’t) look back at me or
carding my spindly fingers through Her locks.
They said Her skin was sickly,
Her eyes too intense,
Her hair slathered with the grease of a thousand mistakes,
Her face a nightmare.
That’s what They said before They killed Her.
They killed Her?
They killed Her.
I can’t understand
Why did They kill Her?
