Weekly Highlights
We compared a main character's traits from the beginning to the end of the book.
This week, we really worked hard on word problems.
Partners had to read through, determine if the problem was a one-step or two-step and which operations it would require before sorting. The following day, they solved two of each.
We were fortunate enough to have the district instructional coach come into our class yesterday to do a lesson. She read Scaredy Squirrel and the student's were involved in thinking about how his traits evolved over time. From Scaredy's story, we learned that we have to take risks in life or we will miss out.
We are enjoying our new Osmo!!
These wobble disks are working out really well for students who prefer to stand and work!
Valentine's Day
We will be doing a card exchange on Valentine's Day!! If you would like to decorate a box for your child to collect their cards in, you are welcome to!! We have 19 students in our class. I will send home a list on Monday.
Jump Rope for Heart UPDATE
We are still in the lead! The class that has the most kids register will win an hour of personal training by a REAL LIFE AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR for the whole class!!! This would be a lot of fun! FOURTEEN KIDDOS have registered and we are TWO DOLLARS away from raising $1,000!!
