September in the Southeast
Hurricane Preparedness & Resources
September is our Peak
Even though hurricane season is from June 1 to November 30, we often see our share around this time of year. With Dorian hanging out below us, I wanted to take a moment to share some quick resources with you. Feel free to share this with your schools and families.
NCTSN Hurricane Resources
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network has created resources for children and families to prepare for a potential hurricane. Resources include what to do before, during, and after. Learn more here.
ReadyNC App
ReadyNC is an app and website that provides the most critical information needed to prepare for and recover from typical disasters that impact NC. To access the website or app, click here.
Hope 4 NC
If you or someone you know may be anxious and would like emotional support as you prepare for possible storms this Hurricane season, they can call Hope 4 NC for FREE crisis counseling any time day or night at 1-855-587-3346.
Stay Safe Friends
I truly hope Dorian misses us in NC as many of us are still recovering from Florence. Please take heed to any preparations necessary for you and your families. It's always better to be safe than sorry.
