Warm Weather Clothing
The cold weather mornings are here! We do go outside several times a day so please make sure your child has plenty of layers. If your child needs any extra clothing, we are more than happy to help in any way!
What Is Happening In Computers?
October is ‘Keeping Kids Safe Online Month’ in Wisconsin. Check out the free online, interactive course called "Interact" created by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). This is a 30 min. basic cyber safety course designed to be completed by the students and parents together. The activity refers to "teens," but is appropriate for parents and children of any age. This e-course takes an interactive approach to open up discussions about online safety in the home through watching videos, navigating online scenarios, and completing a family media plan. Simply search for DPI and Interact to find the activity and other great resources!
Student usernames for computer logins follow the legal firstname.lastname format. Check with your child to see if he/she knows how to spell your last name. This is something you can work on at home together!

What Makes a Proficient Reader?
During reading, your child is working with the teacher in small flexible groups who have similar reading processes. The teacher selects and introduces new books and supports children reading the whole text to themselves, making teaching points before, during and after reading. Your child is working with books that are “just right.” You can help your child by:
· Saying to your child, “tell me more” when they are retelling the story.
· Listening to your child read.
· Wondering with your child, “What will happen next?”
· Signing your child’s book bag or assignment notebooks nightly.
As we give our children more responsibility, we are also expecting them to relay to you the assignments they have for the evening. Please read nightly with your child in order to enable them to become the most confident reader they can! It is also a great opportunity for you to celebrate their growth! Please see article below!
Together we can achieve more! Thank you for your support!
