Attention 8th Grade Families
Hello 8th Grade Families,
This is a friendly reminder that the orientation session for freshmen students entering Arrowhead in fall of 2020 is coming up. The two nights for orientation are Tuesday, January 21st and Wednesday, January 22nd. Our students from Stone Bank School are scheduled to attend on Wednesday, January 22nd from 6:30-7:00p.m. in Arrowhead’s South Campus library. If you cannot make that date or time please attend later that evening or on Tuesday, January 21st between 6:15-8:00p.m. You should have received this letter in the mail regarding this information night. We strongly suggest that all 8th graders and/or their parents attend.
On the morning of January 14th at 9:30a.m., the school counselors from Arrowhead will be coming to Stone Bank School to meet with the 8th graders and pass out all information that they will need to register for high school classes in the upcoming weeks.
As we go through this process of helping your child get registered for high school, please feel free to call me or email me with any questions. I am here to help!
****Please remember, if you are open-enrolled into Stone Bank School, you HAVE TO apply for open-enrollment into Arrowhead High School. It DOES NOT automatically do this for you, as we are considered separate districts. If you need further open enrollment information, please contact Mrs. Magnuson, our district secretary. Thank you.

Chief Eagle Treats, Open for Business!
Four students participating in life skills two times a week have opened a monthly business called “Chief Eagle Treats.” In September these students learned about what it means to have a business and brainstormed ideas for what kind of business they wanted to have at Stone Bank. They decided they wanted to sell hot drinks and treats to teachers and determined a drink would cost 50 cents and a treat would cost 1 dollar.
Each month the students brainstorm different treat ideas. Once they decide on the treat they make a list of ingredients they will need. Next they create posters to hang around the school to advertise when the next “Chief Eagle Treat” day will be and what they will be selling. A Google form is then sent to teachers to place their order. Once orders are placed the students fill out a form for each teacher and determine the total cost. Once the order forms are filled out and the treats are made then it is time to deliver! Students have to work on reading each order form and completing the order correctly. They then deliver to each teacher and work on communicating to them what they ordered, their total cost, and any change that needs to be given. Once all orders have been delivered they work as a group to count the money they have earned which is then used to buy supplies for next month’s delivery.
“Chief Eagle Treats” has been a huge success so far. It has given the students a chance to work on life skills, communication skills, built their independence, and has been an activity they look forward to every month. Thank you to all of the Stone Bank staff for ordering and empowering these learners to run a business!
Thank You
Stone Bank School recently held the 7th grade girls’ basketball tournament on December 9th through December 11th.
I would like everyone to know that we received many compliments throughout the week on how well organized the tournament was. The event could not have run as smoothly as it did without the efforts of so many people.
A big thank you goes out to all of you that volunteered your time to help with admissions, concessions, in the gym, and clean up. Those people include the Knuth, Draeger, Tarkowski, Mesich, Hanson, Debord, Mikulak, McKenna, Henschel, Bamba and Merck families. Also, many thanks go out to the Stone Bank students who were there every day helping to setup, clean the gym and make popcorn. I would also like to thank Rachel Roberts for her help during the week with admissions. Thanks also goes out to Angela Miller and Jenny Seonbuchner for allowing us to use the kitchen. Julie Roussel and Wendy Corlett deserve thanks as well, as they helped organize the money that was collected each night. If I missed anyone, I sincerely apologize. All of you were so instrumental in making the week a success.
A very special thanks goes out to Kiley Beth and Vinny Salamone. Kiley and Vinny were the scorekeepers for each and every game played. They did an outstanding job and are one of the main reason why officials love to come here to referee the games.
It takes the help of many good people and I truly appreciated all the help each and every day!!!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Gilroy

Box Tops for Education
General Mills wanted to create a program to help support education and benefit America’s schools – and so, Box Tops for Education™ was born. As part of the initial test program, Box Tops were only available on select Big G cereals, such as Cheerios™, Total™ and Lucky Charms™.
The program was such a huge success that it soon launched on other General Mills products and expanded across the nation. By 1998, more than 30,000 schools were clipping Box Tops and earning cash to buy the things they needed: books, computers, playground equipment and more.
Over the next four years, the Box Tops for Education™ program doubled to include brands such as Pillsbury™, Old El Paso™ and Green Giant™. By 2004, over 82,000 schools across the nation participated in Box Tops, earning more than $100 million.
In 2006, for the first time, non-food brands began to participate; now families could clip Box Tops from Ziploc®, Hefty®, Kleenex® and Scott® products, too. As the program expanded, school earnings increased. By 2010, schools across the nation had earned over $320 million.
Today, America’s schools have earned over $868 million, and you can find Box Tops on hundreds of products throughout the grocery store and online.
PLEASE KEEP SENDING IN YOUR BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION.
