Skyland Peek at the Week
Week of December 16 - 20
Reminders
Consistency Reminder
Before you leave for break...
Also please make sure any Christmas decorations you have up in the hallway or in your classroom are taken down before you leave. I know you won't want to deal with that on the Monday you come back from break!
Please make sure all technology and lights are completely shut down and unplugged.
Class Christmas Parties
Please also let your parents know that we are going to try to keep them in the atrium until 1:00 so that we don't have parents showing up too early. If you have a room parent that needs to come earlier to set things up, please also communicate that with the front office.
Related Arts teachers, Special Education, and support staff: If you do not have a first grade class for RA, we are asking that you plan on monitoring the hallways during the class parties. We need a few in the atrium and a few at the hallway "T". This will just be one extra way to keep our students safe. Please make sure you are checking for yellow visitor badges on all adults.

The Most Dreaded Phrase Ever
Please make sure your students are washing their hands frequently! Maybe even go over with them how to "properly" wash their hands! Stay safe my friends. :)
Some STEAM before Winter Break (No pun intended...well maybe a little!)

Conference room sign up sheet
Please remember that our school psychologist (Cacie) does use the room on Tuesdays since we don't have an office space for her. However, she is flexible if you do not have another space to hold a large meeting. Also, remember that On Track uses that room on Wednesdays from 8 - 11 am.

Save the date for UTC on the Road!
Save the date for UTC on the Road! - UTC on the Road is a new professional development opportunity for GCS elementary teachers who love the ideas they find at the summer Upstate Technology Conference but would like to experience a shortened, smaller version during the school year. Each UTC on the Road event will include at least ten 50-minute sessions from which participants may choose 1 or 2, depending on how much time they have available. Flyer | Website

Lost and Found
Have you been bothered by the number of coats, shirts, hoodies, hats, and gloves that end up in our lost and found each year? I have decided to take a different approach. Coats and shirts are displayed on clothing racks in the cafeteria as space allows. If you recognize any clothes, take the item(s) to your class to make room for other coats. Please write a blurb in your newsletters encouraging parents to label their child’s clothes and visit our cafeteria if they are unable to find lost items. Thank you for your help.
