Corona High School - A Tradition of Excellence Since 1896

Greetings Panther Families

The Corona-Norco Unified School District, along with Corona High School, takes the safety of our students (i.e., your children) very seriously. The following is a message from our school district regarding school safety that you should find informative and valuable. Please talk to your child about school safety and feel free to reach out to me with any questions in this regard.

"Dear CNUSD Families,

As the topic of school safety continues to be at the forefront of conversations throughout the nation and in our community, the District has teamed up with our local law enforcement agencies to produce a school safety video. The video highlights some aspects of our Project Safety Net plan, emphasizes the importance of reporting any suspicious activity, and underscores how false threats on social media can result in serious consequences. The video also asks the community to provide their feedback as it relates to school safety.

To view the video, please click HERE or visit Please take a few moments to also complete the CNUSD School Safety Community Input Survey.

Thank you for joining our efforts in keeping our schools safe.

Corona-Norco USD"

Here's your Panther Prowl for March 23, 2018.

Corona STEM Academy/Science Fair

Earlier this week we had three Panthers--Scotty Gledhill, Eli Sesma, and Gavin Joyce--place in the Top 3 of their category at the RCOE Science and Engineering Fair. Scotty Gledhill and Eli Sesma both placed 3rd in Computer Science. As a result, they will be fortunate enough to be working with a professor from CBU to continue their project and hopefully advance to the California State Science fair next year. What an amazing opportunity for them! Gavin Joyce earned the top spot in Environmental science and also won the Stockholm Junior Water Prize! He has already qualified for the California State Science Fair April 23-24 held in Los Angeles. We are all so proud of our students for their accomplishments!

The California Association of Bilingual Educators (CABE) and the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) sponsor the annual Bilingual Educators Succeeding Together (BEST) awards to honor those individuals who do exceptional work in supporting English Learners and Bilingual Education. Because this is the responsibility of many individuals, there are several categories that are honored. Last year we had one of our very own Panthers receive recognition at the 2017 BEST Awards, and in 2018 we have yet another Panther who is deserving of a BEST Award. Mrs. Elizabeth Maciel, our Library Media Tech and Co-EL Coordinator, has been selected to represent CNUSD as our Site Support Person of the Year! Mrs. Maciel has an 11-year history of working closely to support our EL students and their families, so this recognition comes as no surprise to anyone here at Corona High School. Congratulations to Mrs. Maciel on her 2018 BEST Award!

Textbook Room News

Parents, every year as we near graduation students are notified of outstanding textbooks that can lead to obligations. These outstanding books can end up costing the school thousands of dollars collectively if not returned. For seniors, this may result in withholding of the diploma. As notices are sent home regarding obligations from our textbook room, please work with your student to ensure that all books are returned, or obligations cleared. You may contact Mrs. Rapp ( in the textbook room if there are questions regarding this issue.
