What does this amendment mean?
It means anyone can be a citizen of the U.S. no matter what. But the Congress can strip their citizenship with appropriate legislation.
Why do think the Framers felt this is important?
So we could vote.If we couldn't be citizens, it would be a disaster. We wouldn't have a fair president,therefore are rights might not apply to other people.
How might this amendment affect our lives today?
It wouldn't really affect our lives unless a threat got approved as a citizen.
The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any states on account of sex. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation
