Transportation
It was a great second day of school at Concord Magnet K-8!
There are still some transportation glitches to work out, but hopefully they will improve soon. There is a bus tracking app – not sure if it’s working, but it’s worth checking out. Here’s a link to the site:

A Few Notes on Dismissal:
Parents who wish to park and walk up to the school to pick up children, should wait at the CMS front entrance by the STEAM sign. Ms. Murray will call in for your children.
Cars lining up for drop-off or pick-up should pull up to the cones and not block the crosswalk.
To expedite the pick-up process, please make sure to keep your name cards in your car.
If your children ride the bus, please make sure they know their bus numbers. Bus numbers and routes can be found at: https://norwalkps.org/556856_3
Contact information for NPS Transportation Office: (203)854-4074 or email Transportation@norwalkps.org.
Please contact your classroom teacher if your child’s after school plans change.
2022/23 School Year Covid Protocols
Covid protocols remain the same as last school year -- the main change is that quarantine is not required for household contacts; regardless of vaccination status. Contacts of a positive individual in a household do not need to quarantine but must wear a mask while at home and outside of the home for 10 days. If they present with any symptoms, they must test.
In addition:
- Students with possible Covid symptoms should stay home.
- Any student with symptoms should be sent home and may return with a negative Covid test or a note from the medical provider.
- At-home Covid tests remain available for testing at home.
- Isolation spaces must be available for students with symptoms.
- Students who test positive for Covid must isolate at home for at least 5 days from symptom onset and may return to school on day 6 if they have been without a fever for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. The student must wear a mask through day 10.
- Nurses will continue to conduct household assessments of those students who test positive, and provide recommendations.
- Masking continues to be optional.
- Principals to continue to notify the school community of a positive Covid case in the building.
Before & After School Care

Food Services
Free Breakfast and Lunch will be offered to all Norwalk Public School students for the 2022/23 school year. This applies to One Breakfast and One Lunch per student daily. Students' accounts will be charged for any additional meals, milk (purchased separately) or a la carte items. Please Note: Cash will not be accepted.
Breakfast and lunch are available to all students through the Chartwell’s Food Service Program. A monthly menu is published so that parents/students can select the dates that they wish to order breakfast and/or lunch. Each meal is completely balanced and nutritious. Students may opt to bring a packed lunch from home if they prefer.
All families are required to open a “My School Bucks” account for their children to pay for additional items or a second meal.
