Move Up Day for K! June 2nd
Ophir Elementary invites all incoming Kindergartners!
Why have a MOVE UP DAY?
In collaboration with Morning Star, Discovery Academy, and the community at large, Ophir Elementary is planning a day to provide all incoming Kindergarten students (2021-2022 school year) with an opportunity to visit our school.
The goal of the day is to create a sense of excitement for the newest members of our school community while helping to alleviate some of the anxiety or fear they may have about their big transition. Activities include meeting the principal and teachers as well as classroom and school tours.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2nd
MOVE UP DAY SCHEDULE:
4:00PM-4:45 Arrival.
Anticipate spending around 10 minutes touring the school.
The number of families allowed in the building at one time will be limited to ensure distancing. It may be necessary to wait outside for your turn. When inside, please be cognizant that others are waiting their turn and limit your touring time to 10 minutes.
Masks are required for all children 5 and older as well as adults.
Once in the building you will receive a brochure and have a self-led tour:
- Meet the principal
- Meet the Kindergarten teachers Ms. Ash + Ms. Saidizand
- Tour the Kindergarten classroom + pick up your summer fun packet
- School tour
Parents
Parents, Please Note: The focus of this day is on our incoming students gaining an awareness of their new school and making connections with staff. This is a student-centered day. Parents will have the opportunity on the first two days of school (August 30 & 31, 2021) to have an individual conference with their child's teacher and to ask specific questions at that time.
