BYOD Tips
I am responsible for keeping up with my device at all times.
Only you are responsible for making sure nothing happens to your device. This means keeping it from being lost, loaned, damaged, or stolen.
I must use the district's wi-fi network!
You will be instructed as to what network to choose in your settings. Some devices my not search for the MISD wi-fi if they are older.
I am the only one who will be using my device.
I will use my device when I have permission from my teacher at a designated time.
All devices need to be stowed away safely before and after my class.
If I am using the internet, all inquiries will be educational and appropriate.
If you have to ask, then you probably shouldn't do it. When in doubt, don't.
I must label my device so that others know it is mine.
I will charge my device before I get to school.
I must keep my device silent or on vibrate.
It is important to maintain a learning environment without distractions. Can you imagine a whole classroom full of devices all turned up at the same time? Who could think in that environment?!
What if I don't have a device?
That's ok. We understand not everyone has a device. Just let your teacher know and he/she can tell you what can be done. You will not be penalized for not having a device.
If I'm not using my device appropriately, it will be taken up by my teacher or administrator.
If I am online, I should NEVER give out my personal information.
This means your name, date of birth, where you live, pictures or yourself, or any other information.
What's considered a device?
