December Preschool News
Preschool News:
December has been a fun and exciting month down in preschool. We have been working on the letters U,C, and O. We have also been learning all about the season of Advent and how its a time of preparing our hearts and home for Christmas Time. We have also been talking about the true meaning of Christmas, which is how Mary said yes to God and gave us the best gift of all, Jesus, who was born on Christmas day.
We also had some Santa fun and was visited by a classroom Elf named Jingles who liked to cause messes in the room. Jingles also shared with us some magical candy cane seeds so that we could grow our own candy canes and he gave us Advent chocolate boxes which we have been enjoying opening every day. We have also been busy making different Christmas crafts which are hanging up in the hallway.
Please remember to have your child at the church by 1:45 Saturday, December 16th for the Christmas program. The kids have been working really hard all month on their three songs and I am looking forward to seeing everyone there.
December 19th will be our classroom Christmas Party. We will start around 10:00. If your child isn’t usually in school on Thursdays they are more than welcome to come in at 10 for the party and be picked up about 11:00 or so. There is a sign up sheet in the hallway by the sign in sheet for party snacks. We will be decorating Christmas Cookies for Santa during our Christmas party.

Sacred Heart School is growing and we want to be able to accommodate all of our school families for the 2024-2025 school year. Planning well for next school year will allow us to keep tuition low and continue to educate our students in the tradition of excellence that you are accustomed to.
New Policy for Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 School Year
Sacred Heart School will not offer a developmental kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. Students who are being registered for kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year must turn 5 by September 1st. You may be aware that Sacred Heart Kindergarten has grown over the years and enrollment has increased to over 20 students every year. In order to create the best possible learning experience for our students, the Education Commission, Father Todd, teachers and I have determined that children should be 5 years old at the beginning of the school year. We are very excited to offer a Kindergarten program that prepares children to be excellent students in 1st grade and beyond. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at aakin@sacredhearthudson.org
