What is it?

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is one of the most common disorders among children, though it can continue into adulthood, that causes those who have it to be inattentive and/or hyperactive/impulsive.

The Three Subtypes

The three sub-types, predominate hyperactive and impulsive, mostly inattentive, or the combined form with almost all symptoms. With either of the specific types, less that six symptoms are shown on a regular basis. Of all three sub-types, the one known as ADD (predominately inattentive) is the easiest to overlook.

The Symptoms:

  • 4.1% of Americans eighteen and older are affected by ADHD or ADD
  • 9% of Americans under eighteen are affected
  • Boys are four times more likely to be affected
  • The only real treatment is relaxation methods, and prescribed medication.
