ripe, fresh avocados, seeded and peeled


3limes, juice only

2medium tomatoes, chopped

1medium white onion, chopped fine

1/4 tsp.ground black pepper

1/2 tsp.salt

2cloves fresh garlic, minced

1/5 tsp.cumin

1/5 tsp.cayenne pepper

As neededPinch sugar

1serrano chile, chopped fine

1bunch cilantro, chopped





Instructions


  1. Place avocados in a bowl and mash with a fork.
  2. Immediately mix in remaining ingredients; serve immediately.

Serve with fresh tortilla chips.

* Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.

History

The avocado may have originated in southern Mexico but was cultivated from the Rio Grande to central Peru long before the arrival of Europeans.

Avocados are baby friendly. They are a good, healthy snack to feed to a baby when they aren't able to chew normal foods yet.
