Welcome
We are so excited for all of our new friends that have joined us in 2nd grade! This year is full of fun adventures and laughter. This year is flying by! We invite you to join us on our adventure of positive energy! Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Family Focus
This year we are taking more of a family focused approach to homework. We believe that spending quality family time is vital in the success of your student. We will provide family friendly, engaging homework activities and assignments. We would love if you would send us pictures of these activities and share them with us.
Please make sure your student is reading every night for about 30 minutes. As they are reading stop to ask them to summarize what they have read so far and to discuss details in the story. After reading have your student write out written responses about what they have read.
Academics
Math: We will review addition, subtraction and fractions.
Social Studies: We will create maps of our school, homes and places in the community.
Science: Students will observe, describe, and record patterns of objects in the sky.
