Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
Dr. Ellen Ochoa
Dr. Ellen Ochoa was the first Hispanic woman astronaut. She participated in four NASA missions and spent 978 hours in space. She also contributed to creating three patents in the field of optics. NASA uses her innovations to process data gathered during missions to this very day. Her family, originally from Mexico, relocated to California, where she was born and raised. Ellen studied physics at San Diego State University. She first became interested in optics while a fellowship student at Stanford University. There, she created three inventions that improved the speed and effectiveness of how computers handle information. From 2013 until 2018, Dr. Ochoa also served as the director of NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Victor's Dreambox DoorDash! ๐ฅช
Want lunch delivered to your home by Dr. Victor?! All you have to do is play DreamBox!
How it works:
- Students will get their name entered into a drawing for every 5 DreamBox lessons that they complete each week.
- Drawings will be held once at the end of the month.
- Teachers will submit the names into the drawing for every 5 completed DreamBox sessions per week.
- The student whose name is drawn will get to pick what they would like Dr. Victor to bring them for lunch. This will be coordinated with their parent/guardian.
We can't wait to celebrate students and their hard work!
