Bible Verse for the Month
From the Principal
We enjoyed beautiful artwork this past Wednesday evening at out 16th Annual "Meet the Artist" event currently on display around the school library. We had many students participate, and all their artistic and creative talents came shining through! Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the show. Mr. Suarez, our art instructor, works to inspire the students. A huge "THANK YOU" for all he does to foster a love of art in our children, and develop a sense of pride in their hard work on display. If you haven't already, come by the library to view the show.
Fr. Wilcox came by the HSA Meeting last night and offered encouragement to our parents, encouragement to explore some spiritual reading. Please find his list of suggested books below. I hope some of you take him up on his "homework" of reading one of these books and emailing him back before the end of the school year. He wants to know what you thought of the book. I have ordered St. John Marie Vianney's "Sermons of the Cure de Ars" to read. I look forward to spending some time reflecting on the words of this great saint.
Our Geography Bee went very well today! Congratulations to all the students who participated. A very special congratulations goes to 8th grader, Ryan Jimenez, our Bee Champion! Events like the Geography Bee and the Art Show should inspire each and every one of our students to share the gifts God has given them, and they are many.
Sunday, January 28th will be Open House for all Knight families, and prospective families. Please come out to spend a little time with your child's teacher, and to enjoy their work on display. If they come in their Mass uniform, they will be able to enjoy a free-dress day during Catholic Schools Week. New families will get the opportunity to see what a wonderful community we have at St. Joseph! Let's kick off Catholic Schools Week 2018 together! #CSW18

New Quotes to Ponder
Genuine love is demanding. But its beauty lies precisely in the demands it makes.
- St. Pope John Paul II
I seek the beauty of Heaven. I was ready to become a prisoner in order to give this Heavenly beauty to other souls.
- St. Therese, The Little Flower
At St. Joseph Catholic School, we are striving to become missionary disciples by bringing others to Christ, through the recognition of what is beautiful around us each and every day, and reflecting that beauty in our actions.

car line observations
- It is very important that cars are not left unattended in the car line. Please park your car in the large lot beside the field is you need to leave your vehicle.
- Please remember that if you are walking your child into the school building, you are to park in the large lot in front of the field. Foot traffic should not be occurring in the very front parking lot, even though there is a defined crosswalk. It is dangerous to be walking between the cars.
- For the safety of all, please be aware of your speed as you move through the parking lots.
- Please be patient with friends and extended family members who drop off and pick up students. Many times they have not been informed of the proper way to navigate the car line. We do reach out to families after arrival and dismissal who seem to not understand the car line pattern.
- If you have a friend or extended family member picking up your child, please take a minute to explain the procedures to them. Please reference the diagram. Thank you!
- We would ask that a cell phone not be in your hand while driving in the car line. We all know it only takes one sudden distraction to alter lives forever.
