Fork Shoals Library Ledger

News for May 27-June 6, 2014

All library books are now overdue! Please return books to the library as soon as possible!

Summer Reading begins June 1st!

Read 500 pages from June 1st-August 22nd. As a school, Fork Shoals’ goal is to read 500,000 pages!

Students who reach the 500 page goal and turn in their reading logs will receive special rewards and will be recognized on a display outside the library. Prizes will be awarded to the top reader in each grade as well as the top faculty/staff reader!

In order to receive the reward for reading, you must list books as you complete them this summer. Use this reading log (or your own paper), and have your parent/guardian verify your reading by signing by each book. Parents must sign by each book completed.

Make sure you print clearly and total your pages at the end!

Summer library hours

The Fork Shoals Library will be open on Wednesdays this summer from 9am to noon. Summer library hours begin on Wednesday, June 11th, and go through Wednesday, August 6th. We will be open the week of July 4th!

Come in, visit with friends, and check out some books for summer reading!

Get a head start on your Book Award reading!

Every year, the South Carolina Association of School Librarians nominates twenty books for four different Book Award levels: Picture, Children's, Junior, and Young Adult. Fork Shoals participates in both the Picture and Children's Book Award programs. Students who read at least five books from each level are eligible to vote for their favorite in February!
