From the Principal's Desk...
For God is the one who, for his good purpose, works in you
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am very glad to let you know that our faculty and staff who have been quarantined are beginning to return. Everyone tested negative, and all of them will be back no later than Monday. We continue to be very blessed to be able to keep our students, faculty and staff and our families safe and well. Our protocols are working.
We are looking into acquiring new temperature scanning systems which may be mounted on the wall and will keep a record of each student’s temperature. As the weather gets colder, we have found that our hand held thermometers are difficult to use. As you know, we are returning to in person classes beginning next Wednesday, November 11, 2020. It is critically important that we all remain vigilant in following the protocols we have established at school and outside of school. We are deeply appreciative for your support and cooperation.
We will be sending out information next week regarding our fall parent and teacher conferences. This year these conferences will all be done via Zoom. In this way, we can continue to keep everyone as safe as possible. Conferences will take place on Monday, November 23 as the calendar indicates.
I want to encourage everyone to support our second annual St. John’s School Spectacular on Saturday., November 14. You can find the link to purchase a ticket, register to bid online and see the items available at stjohnschool.givesmart.com This is a very important event, and we are very hopeful that it will be as successful as last year.
In today’s first reading (PHIL 2:12-18), St. Paul reminds us that God works within us and among us. Keeping one another safe during this pandemic; caring for one another in these challenging times, and supporting our school community in all of its endeavors to continue to provide a quality Catholic education for all of our students is allowing St. Paul’s words to take root in us. For God is the one who, for his good purpose, works in you. Thank you for all that you continue to do.
Peace,
Dan Minelli
