Hello, Parkwood Families!
This first quarter has flown by! Thank you to everyone who attended conferences over the past few weeks. We love having the partnership between school and home to help students succeed!
This time of year brings thoughts of thankfulness and we feel blessed that you share your children with us every day. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education! I am thankful for all our hardworking staff and supportive parents that make Parkwood Elementary a great place. I appreciate our hard-working students that show up everyday eager to learn and filled with enthusiasm. Our staff and our families are truly amazing and go above and beyond each day to help every child be successful.
I am thankful for our PTO and their efforts to support our students and staff. Our students and families reached our fundraising goals for Boosterthon and our Mum Fundraiser. Boosterthon raised $17,330.00 for Parkwood! This fundraiser funds all of the extra enrichment opportunities given to our students and staff for the school year. Our Mum Fundraiser raised $7,302.75 for Parkwood. The goal for this fundraiser was to raise enough to paint our blacktop with movement based activities and games and we did it!
During the month of November, our character trait is a focus on Citizenship. A good citizen has a responsibility to follow the rules, respect authority, make good choices and contribute in a positive way. I am excited to watch our students display their citizinship throughout the month of November!
As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child(ren) wear a jacket or coat. We will be going outside for recess unless the temperature drops below 20 degrees. Please write their name on the inside of the coat so if it is forgotten, we can return it to them. We do have a lost and found if your child is missing something!
Sincerely,
Sue Bamford

Great Things Are Happening at Parkwood!
SHINE Award - Levi Reynolds
Levi is a wonderful student and role model to everyone at Parkwood! He is always polite to his peers and staff. Levi is willing to help anyone who needs it and volunteers in the classroom often. Levi just became a member of the Student Council and wrote an essay about the many ways he wants to help our school be its best. We are so proud of Levi and the many ways he shows his respect, responsibility, and trustworthiness here at school each and every day. We are so lucky to have him this year.
