Samuel Cameron named principal of Crownhill Elementary School
The Bremerton School District is pleased to welcome Samuel Cameron as the principal at Crownhill Elementary School starting in the 2022-23 school year.
“We are thrilled to have Mr. Cameron join the Bremerton School District and Crownhill families,” said Brittane DeBard, Director of Elementary Education for the district. “He has a contagious enthusiasm for student learning, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and a track record of developing relationships with students, families and staff. It was clear during our selection process that he is committed to the success of every student and staff member at Crownhill.”
Mr. Cameron, a National Board Certified teacher, currently teaches at Blakely Elementary School on Bainbridge Island. At Blakely, he’s taught fourth grade the past 9 years where he has also facilitated and led work centered around mentorship and outdoor education and developed support systems for students at the district and school levels. Prior to teaching at Blakely, he taught at Newman Elementary in Billings, Montana.
“I am humbled and thrilled to be the next principal at Crownhill Elementary,” said Mr. Cameron. “I look forward to learning and growing with the students, staff and families of Crownhill and the Bremerton School District.”
Mr. Cameron (or “Mr. C”) earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in education from the University of Montana, and his Master of Education (MEd) degree from Western Washington University. He is completing his administrative internship at Blakely Elementary this year.
Mr. Cameron enjoys spending time with his wife, son and dog exploring Kitsap county, the natural beauty of the Olympic Peninsula and beyond. He loves to cook, garden, and swim in the sound.
