CLINIC NOTES:

If your student has received any vaccines this school year, feel free to send a copy or screenshot to your child’s nurse so that we can have it on file. You can email it to aransley@conroeisd.net for the Senior Campus, or efalcon@conroeisd.net for the Ninth Grade Campus.

If you have a graduating senior or plan to move over the summer, please be sure to request a copy of their vaccine record to be picked up by your student or emailed to you no later than May 25th. We will not be able to fulfill requests made during the summer, and only clinic staff have access to those records.

Colleges and universities require a second dose of the Meningitis (MCV4) vaccine that is received on or after the 16th birthday, since the first dose is only effective for five years. You may also want to discuss the Meningitis B vaccine with your doctor. That is a newer vaccine that is available to children ages 16-18, and it protects against an additional strain of the meningococcal virus.

Texas Bluebonnet Girls State: We're happy to announce that the following junior girls were selected by the American Legion Auxiliary to represent our school this summer for a week at Texas Lutheran University, out of over forty young ladies in the junior class that were nominated by teachers and staff for leadership, character, and citizenship. Those young ladies are: Gia Kurp, Aubrie Edmondson, Paige Fossler, Kinzey Wessner, Louise Crawford, and Clare Curtis. Alternates are Ella Parsons and Kate Edwards. Congratulations to these young ladies!

TWHS ART: The artworks of ninth graders, Ana Uzcategui (Art II) and Rachel Cheng (Art I), were chosen at the Regional Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) in Bryan, TX to represent The Woodlands High School at the State VASE competition in San Marcos, TX. Ana's colorful artwork titled "Mardi Gras Enthusiasm", was completed with acrylic paint and depicts a street in New Orleans after her recent visit. Rachel's realistic painting titled, "Deer Texas", depicts a dramatic still life of deer antlers against a draped red cloth and was originally intended for the Western Art Show. Wishing these students good luck as they compete at the State level in April!

We begin our first round of preliminary performances next week for our annual Solo Festival. Many students in our fourth block classes will be performing their solo with a piano accompanist. Ask them when they are performing -- please come listen & enjoy!

LIBRARY: All students, but especially SENIORS should clear up their library account ASAP to ensure a smooth entry into all events this semester. You can check your account by signing into Destiny from the SSO and clicking the account button in the upper right of the page or come by the library and we can let you know if you are clear.

When you buy a print card for $2.00 on School Cash Online, don't forget to bring a copy (or picture) of the receipt to the library to pick it up. Print cards are not delivered directly to students. As the last grading period kicks off, it's great to already have this so you don't get caught owing money for printing fines.
