School Supply Pickup 8/19

Hough Street will have a material pick up day for Grades 1-5 on Wednesday, August 19th from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This pick up will occur around the outside of the building. Please see the diagram below that shows where each grade level supply pick up will occur. Please socially distance and wear a mask when coming to pick up materials. Mr. Ernst is asking you to refrain from congregating on school grounds during the supply pick up as we want to avoid large crowds.

For all of the Kindergarteners, if you are selecting an in person Meet the Teacher for kindergarten then your child’s supplies will be handed out at that time during the meeting. If you are choosing to do Meet the Teacher via “Zoom,” Mr. Ernst asks that you coordinate a time to pick up your child’s supplies with his or her classroom teacher.

PTO Dues

If you haven't paid your PTO dues for the 2020-2021 school year, there's no time like right now. Dues are $15 per child and can be paid through Infinite Campus. These dues help make all the ways we support Hough happen and they also help pay for a yearbook for your child!

President's Corner

Dear Hough Street Hawks,

Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! As we plan for a year unlike any other, we first want to say how excited we are to be the new Hough PTO co-presidents. We are fortunate to have had incredible examples lead before us and now look forward to navigating this unique time together.

New to Hough or new to PTOs? We are an unbiasedly fabulous volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators and support staff who are all dedicated to the successful education of our children. Lofty! The Hough PTO works hard to help make the school year extra enjoyable for students, teachers, and parents. We sponsor school assemblies, host family-focused activities and do our best to support and celebrate the Hough staff. Our main goal for this particular year is to keep that special Hough Street School community feeling (while appropriately socially-distanced, of course).

Mark your calendars and get excited for the first monthly meeting on Thursday, September 3rd, at 6:30 pm! We are still awaiting word from the district if we can host an in-person meeting or if we will be coming to your home via Zoom, so be on the lookout for additional emails. Listen, even if attending PTO meetings isn't your thing, there are many ways to get involved. We are only an email away, so feel free to drop us a line if you would like to help.

On a personal note, the experiences of 2020 have made it clear that even under circumstances we have never experienced and could never imagine, Hough remains a dedicated, caring community, fully committed to the growth and well-being of our kids. Thanks in advance for all you do for our special little school!

Thank You!!

A HUGE thank you for the gorgeous new flooring at Hough Street School that was installed throughout the entire building this summer! This was possible because of an extremely successful Parents' Night Out, so thank you!!!
