Harrison Happenings
February 18-20
This week in Room 300...
Well... this week is a little different since it has been such a short one! I hope all of you stayed safe in the ice, and if you lost electricity, it was not for too long! We will start with our Tuesday homework today since we missed yesterday. We will have homework on Thursday and Friday so that we can stay caught up, but I promise it is not much. It will take them about 10 minutes total. We are beginning to learn about Abraham Lincoln this week in honor of Presidents' Day on Monday. We will transfer our knowledge of Lincoln into an informational piece of writing. Also, in math, we are learning how to compare numbers using greater than, less than, and equal to. We will begin learning the vowel U, and that will continue into next week. Our lightning words for this week are: get, did, & all. Please remember that their lightning word notebook homework is not optional and must be done each night.
Cold temperatures
Since this week is going to be so cold, it is likely that we will not go out to recess unless the temperature is above freezing. With that being said, please send your child in WARM clothes regardless. We have many students that have come in over the past couple weeks in shorts or short sleeves. We hate that these students have to wait outside in the car line or on the bus in such little clothing. Even if we go out to recess when it is above freezing, they must have a jacket and long pants on. If for any reason, your child needs a jacket, please let us know. We have some here at school that can be donated.
Reminders!
- Please turn in February snack money if you have not already (11.00)
- Daddy Daughter Dance is this Friday night!
- If for any reason there is another delay for ice and/or extreme cold temperatures, the school will contact you via e-mail and phone. You can also check the Anderson District One facebook page.
- Please wear sneakers on Fridays for PE. It is difficult for children to participate in boots.
- If you would like for your child to use lunch money to purchase a snack, drink other than milk, or ice cream, you must send a note.
