Beck Weekly Update

Parent Info for Friday, November 4, 2022

Happy November 4!

Hello Beck Parents,

We had a busy week around Beck. There's nothing like Halloween to get everyone in a good mood! The weather did not cooperate, but the students all told me how much candy they gathered Trick-or-Treating - even if it was in the rain!

Mrs. Boes also started the Book Fair up this week, so excited students were looking forward to purchasing a new book. The Book Fair will run through next week. There is more information later in this newsletter, including how books can be purchased in person, online, or with an e-wallet. See below for the information.

The Macomb Reads Reading Carnival is this weekend, Saturday, November 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for the community to celebrate the joy of reading with our children. The flyer is below!

School Pictures went home this week. If your child was absent on Picture Day, or you do not like the way their picture turned out - your child can have their photo taken when Kaiser Studios returns Picture Re-Take Day on November 30.

If you have not yet set up your Parent Teacher Conference, please contact me here at the Beck Office and we can get your account set up in SchoolSoft. Our goal is to meet with 100% of our parents this conference session!

Enjoy this fabulous weather!

5th Graders Explore Newton's Laws!

By Sara Stoilkowski

In science we are learning about Newton's 3rd Law of Motion. Today, in science class we went outside, and we did balloon rockets. Our teacher put us in groups of three or four. The goal was to be able to let go of the filled balloon and for it to go as far as it can on the fishing line. The groups were very successful when doing their rockets. This activity was super fun and an educational way for us to learn the Newtons 3 Laws of Motion.

Attendance Line!

If your child is absent from school, for any reason, please make sure to call the Beck Attendance Line at 586-797-3999. That way we can confirm your child is not expected at school. Sometimes parents let teachers know, but that information needs to be at the office as well.

Lunch Account - Meal Magic

The Meal Magic Family Portal provides a convenient, one-stop place to check your child's meal purchases, make deposits, order food, and apply for benefits. You will need your child's ID number to set up the account. If you don't see it on PowerSchool, please call or email the Beck office and we can provide that to you!
