Implementation Meeting Recap

  • The CCTE would like to incorporate the student voice in their programming. As a result, they have launched two initiatives, Student Voice and Design Projects. Districts are encouraged to share stories of the impact early college programs and career pathways have on the student. The student's story may be featured in DESE's newsletters. Students interested in sharing their story can submit the request here: Additionally, CCTE is looking to revamp the Logo and is seeking to work with students on this initiative. Students in Graphic Design and Visual Communications programs may have the opportunity to work the CCTE team to design the next logo. Should you have an interested student, please email CCTE@mass.gov with the Subject: Design Projects.
  • The Postsecondary & Postgraduate Reports for your district are dur in October. More information on the reporting of your CVTE graduates can be found here. https://www.doe.mass.edu/ccte/cvte/data/
  • The Career/Vocational Technical Education Graduate Follow-up is used to calculate and report on a Perkins V Core Indicator: Postsecondary Placement (3S1). This metric reflects graduates’ postsecondary placement in the 3-6 months following graduation, or October through December. DESE will collect it this winter. For more information about the graduate follow-up process, I will include the manual below.
  • DESE has released the Acceleration Roadmap for the 2021-22 Academic Year, The Acceleration Roadmap is based on the idea that every student is capable of accessing grade-appropriate work with the right supports and interventions. The roadmap is not a guide to adoption of new programs; it is a guide to supporting daily classroom instruction. Recent workshops focused on how schools are establishing systems to diagnose unfinished learning and address student needs through a learning acceleration approach. All workshops are recorded and can be accessed on DESE’s Acceleration Roadmap web page here, https://www.doe.mass.edu/covid19/on-desktop/roadmap/

CARES ACT $$ Round 2!

Bristol can distribute another round of CARES ACT money to dual enrollment students this Fall semester as we did in the Spring.

All enrolled dual enrollment students will receive an email in Bristol email this Wednesday, October 20th, inviting them to confirm they were impacted by COVID (everyone is) and confirm mailing address as was the process in the Spring.

Please encourage your students to submit their claim sooner than later as, this distribution would require students to respond in 2 weeks OR LESS.

We would like every single student to take advantage of receiving these funds, which will be mailed as a paper check to their mailing addresses.
