Attention Seniors – Please check the College Applications Process page of the Guidance website to review instructions and deadlines for college applications. As a reminder, we need 15 school days to process transcript and recommendation requests. Students who have a December 1st application deadline need to submit their Records Release and Transcript Requests by November 6th. And be sure to check each college’s Financial Aid Deadline on their website, and submit the FAFSA by the deadline – these are strict deadlines. Check out our Financial Aid page for more information.
Upcoming Event: The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health
The Penn Foundation in Sellersville is sponsoring a free talk on The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 6:30 - 8:00. The speaker is James Mast, a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in children who are high-risk for hospitalization. The talk will take place at the Penn Foundation (Loux Center, Univest Community Room, 807 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville). To register, go to the website to RSVP.
College Visits -- Each day, admission representatives from up to four colleges visit CBW. The representatives who give these presentations are typically the ones responsible for reviewing students’ applications, so this in an invaluable opportunity for students to make a personal connection with that person. Students should sign up through Naviance (College Tab →Research Colleges →College Visits and click on the “Register Now” button). You will receive a confirmation email to your CB email account. Students should either print this email as their pass to attend the visit, or they may obtain a pass from the Guidance Office.
Peer Tutoring – The Peer Tutoring Academy for the 2019-20 school year is now underway. Tutoring takes place Tuesdays after school for one hour. Students who are requesting tutoring must sign up in Guidance (on the bulletin board) by the preceding Monday. If students do not sign up beforehand, there may not be a tutor available to help. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Lori Bagnick at lbagnick@cbsd.org.
Please bookmark our Guidance Webpage for current updates on Guidance events, college application procedures, PSAT/SAT/AP news, and more!

To anyone interested in wrestling this season:
We are looking to promote the sport of wrestling and we are looking for any 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grader who would be interested. This unique sport can teach you so much more than hard work and discipline. It is a humbling sport and one that will take you beyond just the physical aspect. A person will become mentally and physically stronger and have an opportunity to join the wrestling family/team.
So with that said, it is now time to think about wrestling. If you are interested in wrestling this year, anyone may come up to one of our CB West High School weight training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting right after school or attend an open mats on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 4:30. Coach Romesburg would be glad to see you.
You may just visit to see what it is all about or start training with the high school team. That’s any Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday right after school at CB West — See you there!
Robotics Club at CB West
The C.B. West Robotics Club held its first meeting last Tuesday. We are looking to form a team to compete in FIRST Robotics. https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/frc
New members are welcome as we meet on Tuesdays after school from 2:30 to 3:15 in c-133. During club time, we will explore fundraising ideas as well as use Arduino and Raspberry Pi to make small robotic cars. We will also have a table set up at Young Engineers’ Night which will be Nov. 7th from 6 pm to 8 pm at CB East. Club members will assist elementary aged students in building small projects related to engineering.
Lastly, for our first fundraiser, we will be selling student designed and 3D printed multicolor keychains for $2.00. Any questions, please email cbwestrobotics@gmail.com
