She was the first women ophthalmologist. She was born in the year of 1942. She is a African American, and a native American. She got her education from Howard university of medicine. A few of her achievements are that Dr. Bath was the first woman to chair an ophthalmology residency program in the United States, Dr. Patricia Bath discovered and invented a new device and technique for cataract surgery known as laserphaco.

Her career

Her career path is research. She researched how to make cataract prevention and cure.She also learned how to use lasers to cure cataracts and it was a better solution.She invented a device that used lasers to cure cataracts.One thing she said was "My love of humanity and passion for helping others inspired me to become a physician."
