Spring Enrichments are still available!
Are you looking to kick start your children's science this semester? States of Matter is a content piece for primary students and the enrichment teachers are here to help you get it started! We will be covering solids, liquids, and gasses. Students will get a chance to explore the different properties of matter through scientific investigation and will learn to classify materials by their characteristics and investigate physical changes of material.
What's the Matter? enrichment is for kindergarten, first, and second-grade students. It will be held at the FPCS multi-purpose room on January 14th, 16th, and 23rd from 9-11:30am.
Do your kids love roller coasters? Do they know the science and physics behind the roller coasters? The Roller Coaster Mania enrichment will cover concepts of engineering and physics while giving students a chance to build their own paper roller coasters out of cardstock. Concepts being covered are speed (and how to do speed trials), potential and kinetic energy, teamwork building, and using a budget to “purchase” roller coaster materials.
The dates of the Roller Coaster Mania enrichment are January 15, 17, 22, and 24 from 9-11:30am in the Family Partnership multipurpose classroom.
Seats are still available in both enrichments!

Happy New Year! Algebraic Expressions & Equations, Number Theory, Sequences, Series & Patterns
Happy New Year! Now that 2019 is here, let’s have some fun solving this collection of problems that all involve the number 2019.
What is the greatest prime factor of 2019?
Consider all 365 dates of 2019 expressed in the form MM-DD-YY, where MM, DD and YY represent the two-digit month, two-digit day and two-digit year, respectively. For how many of these dates is the sequence MM, DD, YY an arithmetic sequence?
What is the 2019th term of an arithmetic sequence in which the 3rd term is 1989 and the 8th term is 2019?
The number 2019 can be expressed as the difference of the squares of positive integers a and b. What is the sum of all the possible values of a and b?
