Letter from the Presidents
October will be an exciting month for Level Creek PTA! We are looking forward to our Fall Fundraiser, which will run from Monday, October 3rd, to Friday, October 7th. During the week of the fundraiser, students will earn character pins they can trade with their classmates and Level Creek staff. Daily trading begins Monday, so the earlier kids bring in their donations, the more opportunities they will have for trading.
Each child will earn his or her first character pin with a donation of only $1. Each additional $10 donated adds a pin to the collection. Children of PTA members will receive an additional unique character pin before the fundraiser even begins. If you haven't had a chance yet to join our PTA, you can join online on mypaymentsplus or at levelcreekpta.org/membership.html. We're grateful for your support!
The best part of our fundraiser is that volunteers run the entire event, so all the money stays at Level Creek. The money earned supports our school through academic enrichment activities, new technology purchases, teacher grants, and special programs. We hope you join us in this special week of trading, friendship, and fun!

2016-2017 Science Fair
The LCE Science Fair is coming again!
Science fairs are a great way for students to ask scientific questions and investigate things that interest them the most.
Please visit the website www.levelcreeksciencefair.weebly.com for more detailed information. We look forward to seeing the amazing projects of our young scientists!
Spirit Wear Fridays
Faculty and Staff
During National School Bus Safety Week, October 17-21, we will recognize our LCES bus drivers. We will provide a special treat for them each day of the week: granola bars/water, “emergency” stash bags with candy, popcorn, chocolate, and of course everyone's favorite, Rita’s! Please take a minute to say thank you or write a special note to your own bus driver. They work hard to keep our children safe and happy every day!
Finally, we would like to thank all of our wonderful parents volunteers who helped make the teacher luncheons on early release days a success! The chips and desserts you sent in were a wonderful addition to their lunches! The faculty and staff enjoyed a special catered lunch from Galley Gourmet on Wednesday and were treated to Subway on Thursday. Please send an email to vp3@levelcreekpta.org if you would like to help send in desserts or other items in the future.
Earning for Learning
Children's Original Artwork
Your child has been creating an original artwork in art class under Mrs. Arnold's instruction. You will have an opportunity to have this artwork put on various products, such as mugs, phone and iPad covers, t-shirts, ornaments, pendant necklaces, and many other things you can purchase from Square 1 Art. Many of these items make great one of a kind gifts for friends, grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc and they will be delivered to your child before the Thanksgiving break (just in time for the holidays!). You will be able to order online or send the order form in to your teacher.
This is a fundraiser that goes toward paying for the Fifth Grade tile wall, which is located on the hallway leading to the playground. Each year the PTA orders tiles of the artwork created by all the fifth graders and they are used to create a legacy to Level Creek.
Important Dates:
October 7 - Order forms in Friday folder
October 24 - Order deadline
November 16 - Products delivered to your child's classroom
There will be a fun surprise for the class with the highest percentage of kids with orders. More information will be coming in your child's Friday folder, but if you have any questions, please contact Kathryn Adams at kicadams@gmail.com. Thanks for your support!

Environmental - School Garden
Our school garden is off to a great start! The children recently planted peas, carrots, spinach, radish, lettuce and kale in our fall garden near the playground. Everything is sprouting beautifully! The students are so excited for harvest time. It looks like we’ll be able to harvest radishes and lettuce very soon!
A huge Thank You to Maddie Luney for installing three rain barrels as her Girl Scout gold award project! This will make watering the garden much easier. The children water the garden every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during one of the recess times. If you are interested in helping on one of these days, please sign up to volunteer at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a44aea623a7fa7-school
