Teen Stuff After Fall Break:
· Book Besties starts up again on Tuesday, October 27th and will run through December 1st. We always need teen volunteers, so encourage teens to sign-up on the teen page: www.oldhampl.org/teens.html
· We have a gaming time @ the Mahan Library set up for Thursday, October 29th from 4-6
· Also, the teens will be helping @ the Boo Dell Festival. The sign-up is full but if you have teens that ask you about helping, have them email me.
Coming up next week:
Boo-Dell is October 31st from 11-3 PM at Yew Dell Gardens. We partner with them for a family friendly Halloween Celebration. Kids can enjoy a trail of treats, hay rides, story times with the Princesses of Louisville and a performance by Mr. Magic. The trick-or treat trail, hayrides and story times are from 11-2 PM. The magic show begins at 2 PM. We also invite people to enter our Boo-O-Lantern contest. If patrons park at Yew Dell, there is a $5 fee for parking. Walk-ins are asked for a suggested $1 donation. Lots of fun at a beautiful place!

PODCAST!!! Here’s the link to listen to our first Podcast. You can only access this via this link for right now. It will go public on Saturday, which is slightly later than intended, but this episode mostly covers events happening next week. I want to tie it in to our FB showcases as well. If you haven’t had a chance to check those out, take a look. Patrons have really enjoyed seeing different aspects of the library. https://soundcloud.com/oldhamlibrary/from-the-stacks-001/s-D7Nzs
It’s been a busy week for being fall break. We had a large crowd for game day last Saturday, and I have loved seeing all the families in this week to use the maker boxes and games!
South Oldham Library
First of all, I’m asking everyone to keep Julie Rogers and her husband, Bob, in your thoughts and prayers. Bob suffered a heart attack very early Tuesday morning while on a business trip. He is in a hospital in Owensboro. He’s stable now, but will be there for the next few days. Julie will be out the remainder of the week.
Meanwhile, some late thanks are in order! Thank you to Trisha for coming to South to work on some issues with my new computer. Unbeknownst to me, files saved on the desktop do not sync to the server. My bad! Also, thanks to Paul for repairing the picnic table behind the library.
We have been having delivery issues (AGAIN!) with the Courier Journal. We’ve missed 4 issues during the last 10 days. The circulation department has assured me they will correct this problem – unless, of course, someone is stealing the paper!
Apparently someone tried to rip an electrical box off the wall behind the sit-down PAC as you can see from the photo.
