2019-2020 Assessments
The following assessments are saved as favorites for you. Reading/Writing have been consolidated into one assessment, hopefully making it a bit easier for you when entering.
· 2019-2020 (grade level) Sight Words
· 2019-2020 (grade level) Rdg/Writing Assessments
· 2019-2020 (grade level) Math Investigations
· 2019-2020 (grade level) Social Studies
· 2019-2020 (grade level) Science
· 2019-2020 3rd Grade (Science, SS) Writing Prompt
Sight Words
This year the assessments are split by grade level, groups are still an option. Teachers, K through 3 have access to all grade levels, so if you have a student you want to assess at a lower or higher grade level you can.
Prebuilt reports will be useful to you; parent letters, flashcards, and item analysis will save you time in planning and communicating with parents. I’m working on creating a custom report that will create provide scores for each student without you having to look at individuals.
Student Sight Word report from last year (only available if last year’s teacher assessed):
· View Assessments, 2018-2019 K-3 Sight Words (you can type Sight Words in the search bar)
· Reports
· Skills Assessment Student List
· Choose the options you want (question groups, correct or incorrect, etc.)
· You have options for viewing: if you are going to print, choose download to pdf
More Skill Assessments will be created for MLPP assessments. If you want to assess and don’t see the one you want, let me know.
Science & Social Studies
Standards have been entered and will be given a score of 1, 2, 3, or 4.
3rd Grade Writing Prompts
These are assessments that the students will take online in order for students to have writing samples to comply with 3rd Grade Reading Law. I will be sending out a step-by-step tutorial on administering an online assessment in Illuminate. One prompt needs to be administered in the Fall and one in the Winter. Your department chairs think that Cactus Jam should be earlier in the year and then the space set in winter - to adjust for exposure and time to instruct. The writing that is expected also seems very MSTEP-like and would allow for good teaching after the prompts. The suggested scoring rubric from Achieve the Core will be attached to the assessment. These should be scored like any other writing piece, by adding the totals for each category.
ENTERING IN ILLUMINATE AND COPYING/PASTING SCORES INTO YOUR GRADEBOOK.
Science and Social Studies can be entered in either your gradebook or Illuminate and then exported/imported into the other. This will eliminate the need for double entry. We are also working on being able to do this with other assessments, stay tuned. You will be receiving a detailed tutorial and personalized help (if requested).
Reports
2019-2020 (grade level) Progressive Reports are available to view last year’s data. The MAP’s Spring percentile, Fall to Spring observed growth, and Spring DRA are included. These data points will be hidden by the end of September. As the year progresses, so will the data brought in. If there are other data points you are wondering about, let me know.
Illuminate has many capabilities and if you are interested in delving into it deeper, let me know. I would be happy to work with you!
As always, if you have any questions or need any help call or email.
