December Spirit Days
Bringing Joy to Seniors This Season
In a heartwarming display of community spirit, students from Mrs. Ruppel-Lee's English classes at Randolph-Henry High School have gone above and beyond to brighten the holidays for local homebound senior citizens. The students took a break from their regular writing assignments to participate in the writing, stuffing, and sealing of 461 holiday cards, all destined for the Piedmont Senior Resources as part of the Santa for Seniors annual campaign.
Mrs. Ruppel-Lee, not only an English teacher but also a dedicated Cub Scout Pack leader, has been actively involved in this initiative for several years. The campaign aims to bring joy and festive greetings to seniors who may find themselves isolated during the holiday season.
Inspired by a recent classroom discussion on gratitude and recognizing the sacrifices made by others, the students felt a special connection to this project. Understanding the importance of giving back to the community, they eagerly volunteered to contribute their time and efforts to the holiday card campaign.

Additionally, on September 29, 2023, counselors Mrs. Reeves and Mrs. Perkinson hosted a suicide awareness program in the auditorium during enrichment time before leading students through an "Out of the Darkness Walk". We are committed to supporting the mental health of our students as that is a major component of their success here at school.
Player of the Week
The Charlotte County Farm Bureau is partnering with the Randolph-Henry High School football team by sponsoring a Player of the Week. Each week, the RHHS coaching staff will select one outstanding player. That player will receive recognition and a football donated by Virginia Farm Bureau.
Aviaire Jennings, the fifth player of the week for the 2023 football season, was recognized for his toughness and resilience in last week's game against the Cumberland Dukes. Jennings had 10 carries for 69 yards, scoring 1 touchdown. In addition, he played exceptional defense the entire game. We welcome opportunities to recognize our student-athletes and partner with our community supporters.
