Chula Vista High School - Home of Champions!
Week 8 September 5th to September 11th
Message from the Principal
Hello Spartans,
I hope you enjoyed the extra long weekend in observance of Labor Day. I would like to thank all of the parents/guardians that joined our team in person and virtually this past Friday, for our first Coffee with the Principal. It was good to see so many of you in person and I look forward to meeting with you again soon. As mentioned last week, Friday September 2nd was our first progress report of the year. If you need help logging in to Infinite Campus to check your student's grades, please contact our Parent Center for assistance. It is very important to stay informed, that way you can support your student and help them succeed.
This week is our 8th week of school and although it's a short week, it's packed with important events. From athletics, SCPA events, college presentations, Senior credit checks, our District College & Career Fair, Spirit Week and our Game Show assembly, there is definitely something for everyone. Get involved, get connected, it's great to be a Spartan!
Have a great week!
Go Spartans!

Did You Know?
Last week, our MPulse and Dance Force teams visited Chula Vista Middle School to work with our middle school dancers and also perform for the entire school during lunch. These types of opportunities, where our students get to work with our middle school and sometimes elementary school future Spartans is just one way that makes our SCPA program so special.
If you are not part of our SCPA program, it's not too late. For more information, reach out to our SCPA Coordinator Ms. Debbie Nevin by email at deborah.nevin@sweetwaterschools.org

Alternative Household Income Survey
Dear SUHD Parents,
You've been invited to participate in a very important survey that will impact your child's school funding and support services next year. A school's State and Federal funding is based on the number of eligible Alternative Household Income forms that are submitted each year. This determines how much funding your child's school will receive the following year, which allows for implementation of academic support programs and resources to support student academic success.
Resources and benefits for your child include:
Academic supports: tutoring and intervention programs after school and Saturdays
Classroom supplies and instructional materials
Classroom technology equipment and instructional software
High Schools:
Waivers for high school college admission exams
Fee-reduced high school exams (AP and IB exams)
Fee-reduced college applications
This survey will include the following two questions and a required E-signature:
Number of people living in the home?
Total Monthly Income?
To access this survey log onto your district's Infinite Campus Parent Portal at Https://campusportal.sweetwaterschools.org and select the survey link in your inbox.
This survey will be accepting responses from 07/01/2022 until 06/30/2023.
SUHSD COVID Protocols
Please make sure you also familiarize yourself with our COVID protocols:
- When indoors vaccinated staff and all students are strongly recommended to wear a face mask.
- Unvaccinated staff and adult visitors must wear masks when in the presence of others indoors.
- In classrooms with immunocompromise staff or students, we are asking the classroom communities to please support each other by wearing masks when indoors.
An exception where staff or students will be required to wear masks at this point is after they are returning to school following exposure to COVID. These additional protocols are our best way to ensure we can keep our students and staff on campus and engaged in learning this school year.
