Hello, RMS Families!
The beginning of the school year has been filled with lots of excitement and fun opportunities to learn and grow. We have a lot planned for Social Emotional Learning this year and are looking forward to continuing to work with and support your children and families. As a school we are continuing to utilize the CARES Motto and CASEL competencies to drive SEL instruction. Mr. Medeiros spoke about Cooperation in the most recent Medeiros Minute and we will continue to focus on this and Responsible Decision Making for the month of September. This year we have an additional SEL Team member, please welcome Ms. Ally Sylvia who is Social Work Intern from Bridgwater State University.
Last week we started the first of of our monthly SEL Lunch Lessons and this week we're looking forward to heading back to the cafeteria to facilitate the first round of SEL Minute Meetings. Please check out the attachments and resources below and be on the lookout for more information coming soon regarding Lunch/Recess Groups (starting in October). As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns or feedback. Thanks!

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Lunch Lessons
Last Thursday & Friday we kicked off our monthly SEL Lunch Lessons with a presentation (attached) introducing the RMS SEL Team and explaining our role as School Social Workers.
SEL Minute Meetings
This Thursday and Friday the SEL Team will be joining students in the cafeteria to facilitate beginning of the year Minute Meetings. Minute Meetings are a quick and easy way for us to meet briefly with all students one to one, gives us opportunities to support students throughout their school day and provides important SEL data that will be used to inform our practices at school.
